So, life is always busy. It seems like I'm always on the go. When I'm not, I'm thinking about all of the things that need to get done that aren't getting done and so on...
When Ashley posted her weekly challenge to simplify our lives, I thought it was a great idea. I took her advice and thought about the things that really matter. Here they are.
2. Joseph
3. Being creative
4. Serving
5. Being more active at church / in church activities
When I wrote these down originally, I was shocked that my job didn't make the list. In fact, I wrote out about 15 things that I consider the most important things in my life (5 is much simpler than 15). Work wasn't even in the top 15. But, I like my job. How could this be? I think it's really because I know that I should be helping people (#4) and because I love my family so much (#1 & #2) and because I want to be a better person and I know what I need to do in order to become better (#5 & #3). Living simply is rewarding. I'm grateful for this exercise. In less than 20 minutes, I was able to evaluate what's really important. Now I just have to act! Thanks, Ashley for another great week! How have you all taken steps to simplify your lives?
